Explain it, eh? Hmm... I'm not quite sure what's going on... but isn't "dereference" a great word? It's one of those geeky CS terms that just makes you feel smart to say. Go ahead. Try it. See? The great CS gods could have just dictated that we say "follow" or something simple like that, but no... and thus jargon was born. And it was good.


I finally got my passport applied for. After getting my picture taken, forgetting my checkbook, having the post office reject my photos, going back to get them retaken, and going back, in the course of a mere four days' lunch hours, I have applied for my passport. Woo. Ah, the boss cometh. Gotta go...

Yo Busayo... welcome aboard.


Yes, Dave is pretty much not lying, Kevin's room was the den of all that attracts college students who SHOULD be doing other things: Alcohol, Snacks, TV, More Snacks, Nintendo, MP3s, More Snacks, Comfy Futon... oh and did I mention the Snacks. Yeah, so Kevin had to go to Costco every other week to feed us.


Ok I actually have nothing to say really. One of my reactions died over the weekend so I'm in limbo while I'm waiting for new reagents to be ordered. I'm sure that interested you to no end. Yeah. And my weekend was hella boring too.

Welcome to this new realm of procrastination Busayo! Sorry your mug shot's not showing up...I wasn't planning on you going all postmodern and making your name lower-case... I can fix it when I get home.


I went out to Ann Arbor Saturday night. Ahh... a real college town... with people actually walking around outside at 11 PM... and a real Main Street... Went out to go see Signs with some friends, which was... well, it all depended on your frame of mind. I just couldn't help but laughing at this kid picking up alien signals with a freakin' baby monitor... so then just what is SETI spending all this money on satellite dishes for? A lot of it is kinda deliberately slow-paced ("suspenseful"), so you really have to be patient... but it was well written, reintegrating a lot of subtleties in the plot later (you finally find out what's up with all those damn glasses of water...that's all I'll say). Let's just say the movie doesn't stand on the firmest scientific footing... but it's still worthwhile if you don't think about it too much.


Senator John McCain called me last night, trying to get me to vote for someone in the upcoming Michigan primary. He apparently makes this odd mechanical clicking sound when he talks now and doesn't listen to a word you say, just keeps on going... But it sure was nice of him to call me. And especially nice of him not to say anything when I told him I was going to hang up on him...

Well, LOOKY who decided to show up. WHAT do ya know....I guess I can't really complain. He's been emailing me for weeks, and I didn't write him back until last night so fair's fair, I suppose. Last night WAS one heck of an email, that's for sure.


I got to work at 7:50 today (and have yet to do anything constructive....so far I've eaten breakfast, stretched, read may daily routine of webcomics, stretched some more, eaten some more breakfast....). I'll start soon! After all, we all know that personal use of the internet at work (in reasonable doses) makes you more productive....heh heh, REASONABLE.


As for today's strip, this was a fairly regular occurence last year. Across the hall from Busayo, me, Mike, and Cheng was CA Kevin's room -- the den of all that was evil. If there weren't droves of people in there drinking and screaming (or singing...couldn't tell the difference) at 4 am, then Shawn and Kevin were in there playing Nintendo (that's right, the old 8-bit job) Baseball and yelling at each other almost 24-7. His room was the ideal setup for wasting time and accomplishing nothing. It had a futon, two tv's (one with bootleg cable and a VCR, then other with the nintendo), a comp with a nice flatscreen monitor and a zillion mp3's and bootleg movies, and snacks galore. Thursday evenings I'd come back from something and spy busayo sitting on the futon like a vegetable. Knowing that he had work to do just as I did, I'd walk in and start to say SOMETHING scolding....but stop in midsentence, seeing that wrestling was on. Transfixed, I'd forget my comment, drop my bag, sit down, and start watching.


I'm telling you, that room was a BLACK HOLE. And the blame lies entirely with the room, of course, and not with the people who squandered their lives away in it. Alas, Busayo and I were but hapless victims of its irresistable influence. But I'm SURE next year will be DIFFERENT for Busayo and me as we change locations. We won't waste any time THERE, I'm certain....

Finally! Busayo has come back...Well actually this is the first time i've been here or even seen the comic. but i knew it was coming and it's good to see that it came to fruition. nice. better than nice. i like it, a lot. and as far as jokes go, it works except for one small discrepancy: i know when smack down is coming on, i wait for it, and i never miss the beginning. :-)

Ok... so this is Busayo. Yeah. Hopefully he'll start blogging here soon... We'll see.


I really have nothing to say since this entire strip was all Dave. I only did the art for it... So he's the one to ask if you don't understand something in this comic. Not me. But at least its funnier than the crap that I've been making and hopefully this is a positive trend. Ok... Cheng has work tomorrow...


Maybe more tomorrow.
