Did you know that a McDonald's hamburger (the el cheapo 89 cent variety) is one of the least fatty foods they have? It's healthier than a chicken sandwich there... of course the burger is mostly bun, but still.


Public Rant WhyIsItPop(Michigan As State)


So you go to Kroger to buy a case of Pepsi. Are you buying:

1. soda
   
2. pop
   
3. Coke
   

This depends on where you are in the country. If you're in Connecticut, it's soda. If you're in Alabama, somehow even Pepsi is Coke. But if you're in Michigan... it's pop. Whyy? According to this guy at CalTech who apparently got bored and decided to research such things, 89% of all Michiganders say pop.


Now maybe I'm the only Michigan resident who thinks this is on crack. Maybe I'm just biased because I much prefer non-snowcovered California, where coincidentally 74% of the people say soda. Or maybe... the whole (well, 89% anyway) state of Michigan is on crack. Apparently Michigan isn't alone in its defiance: Ohio, Minnesota, and Iowa are big on this "pop" thing too. So, for that matter, is all of Canada. Like a scourge slowly creeping across from the North, infecting the Dakotas and Washington, bringing linguistic heresy along with Arctic air masses each year... Don't give in to the Canadians... So be patriotic and call it soda, dammit!

So the comic is 2 days late. BAPSSSCH! It's not as if I haven't been later with my homework.


Anyway, the person talking to "me" in the last panel is Dave. And also I'm supposed to be sitting on a chair. I was just too lazy to draw it.
